Is there a limit? I want to take SAT four times because I want to take 4 subject tests (Chem, Math 2, Physics, and Bio) and for the act it will really depend on my score and if I want to/ should/ can improve.
Is there a way to only take the sat subject test without the actual test because I feel like if I do well the first couple of times then taking it again can ruin my score (I’m sorry the question sounds dumb, I do not have any older family members to ask and I am very confused)
Are you asking about taking the regular SAT along with the subject tests? If so, you are not allowed to take the regular SAT and the subject SAT tests during the same testing date. You can take a maximum of 3 subject tests on one date.
Also it’s not a good idea to take more than 3 subject SATs. Depending on what you want to study, take Math and 2 Science tests (for an Engineering major). Some people will take 1 Math, 1 Science, and a History test to demonstrate balance across all subjects.
I think I read somewhere that you can take a maximum of 12 times for ACT…
It is limited by your time schedule and money. Also, statistics show little improvement after the third attempt anyway.
The SAT is completely different from the SAT Subject Tests. You cannot take SAT and Subject Tests on the same day… You can, however, take 3 different Subject Tests on the Same Day.
Aim to take the SAT at most 3 times, I think that’s a fair number.
I only took it once; I was happy with my score and had prepared beforehand. The first time going in to the SAT for me was not blind, I had prepped for some time (It was not like a diagnostic run-through).
Ideally, you just need to take the test once after you thoroughly prepared for it. If you do not get your plateau practice score in the real test, then try it once more.
