How many years of foreign language are required? My D16 is in Spanish 3 and I am afraid that AP Spanish might be too challenging for her next year. She took one year in MS and two year in HS.

Stanford admissions page lists 3 or more years of the same FL under Recommended High School Curriculum. I see no mention of a FL requirement.

[Academic Preparation : Stanford University](http://www.stanford.edu/dept/uga/basics/selection/prepare.html)

Stanford does recommend three or more years of the same foreign language, though my D ended up taking two years of Spanish and one year of online French, because her small school had a lousy Spanish teacher. I had called Stanford admissions to ask them about it and they said although they do recommend three years of the same language, they were ok with taking two languages to fulfill the recommendation. At least this was how it was when she applied EA in 2008 (She was the Stanford Class of 2013).
