So my schools tuition is only 109.06 per credit hour, and I’ve dropped a class I was really struggling with but I’m scared they are going to come out of left field and say that I owe then $3,000 for a class that’s only $ 309.18 if I was paying for it myself. The only thing finaid will tell me is that if I owe anything it will only be baised on that one class. This is the first class I’ve ever dropped, help my anxiety is eating me.
Did the drop cause you to go below the full time minimum for financial aid purposes?
I was at 12 credit hours with this class now i’m at nine
In that case, if you receive financial aid, your financial aid may be reduced.
Ruh roh…did you talk to your adviser about this? Are you at community college? Because at a 4 year college you would go from full to part time and not be eligible for housing or financial aid.
You would have to see how your tuition is prorated based on when you drop out. Talk to the Bursar(finance) office.

I think that for international students this could also invalidate the student visa. At least if any international student is thinking of dropping below 12 credits they should check on this.
The drop from 12 to 9 credits may take you from full time to part time status. Be extremely careful you understand all of the ramifications in terms of housing (if you live on campus) as well as financial aid.
