Because of their healthcare system in Canada, how much do Canadian doctors make? Is it that much different from US doctors? Also, how do they collect money since they have free healthcare...is it through the government?

I'll eat my hat if the gap is less than 25%.

I also bet they pay less malpractice premiums than their US counterparts.

I found this website from another forum. Its from 1998 (I know salaries have changed a lot since then). It says the following on their website:

"Persons reading these data should understand that they provide only a record of gross payments. Since practitioners must pay the expenses of their practice out of this gross amount, no calculation of a practitioner’s net income can be made from such figures."

The salaries are either really high or really low. There doesn't seem to be much of a middle. But it also does not break it down by specialty so that might have a lot to do with it.

i have answers, but rather not put them publicly, pm me if you still care

The averages should be public information, shouldn't they? Of course I would never ask you to publicly post a personal testimonial, but if you have any data that's simply a matter of public record, I am curious to see it.

I found answers (at least for the BC Public Service Agency) ... and here they are:

I do not know if these numbers are representative or generalizable to all of Canada, but it is one data point.
