How much do colleges care about class attendance?

But bill gets and Steve jobs didn’t sleep till noon. I find it amusing how we try and explain away sleeping till noon. If they were working, volunteering, having to do what so many unspoiled peopled do, then maybe. But there is this mindset of well, won’t go tomclass, work my schedule so I can sleep the morning away, then do some work. Not much of a work ethic. My daughter has two classes at ten. Yea she is up at 7 goes to gym, writes for her internships, then goes to classes. Then she goes to work. Her boyfriend has all 830 classes so he can work as well. Must be lucky to just skip classes and not have to get up early to work.

As for jobs and gates, while they took a none college path, they worked hard, long hours, and expected a lot from their employees. Maybe not 8am start time, bt you put in the hours. Also, they were all about team work, something you don’t get working solo.

People on Wall Street work insanely long hours.

Most people who think they are too smart to follow the rules don’t actually end up running anything. They end up in jobs beneath their capacity because no one trusts them. The maverick genius is a pretty rare bird.

Most engineering schools are large enough that missing class is manageable. Furthermore, engineering professors tend to convey the information so poorly that a student’s time is better spent studying independently.

However, Cooper Union is known for its focus on undergraduate education, so I’d assume that its professors tend to be of higher quality and that classes are small enough that attendance is necessary.
