Does is matter if you take some online classes?

I'm not talking about major classes, btw. I'm strictly referring to some classes I'm taking now and some I'll take next semester that are at a CC that will be transferred to a University next year.

I'm taking Intro to Business, Applications in Algebra, English 101, and Oral Com online now and will be taking Applications in Trig, English 102, CAD 1, and Visual Arts next semester. I figured I'd try to get them online, except CAD, just to save myself some driving and gas money. Taking some online shouldn't hurt me online in any way should it?

Online classes are less work than traditional, but that’s about it. Take online only for classes you really don’t care about.

It’s always been my experience that online classes require a LOT more busy work to account for the lack of class time. It shouldn’t be a problem admissions wise though.

Online classes won’t hurt you at all, a class is a class, credits are credits. Workwise, some classes are easier some harder. I did almost all my maths online, it was a lot of work but I got all A’s and still learned what I needed. If you are disciplined to get the work done, good at self study (though a lot of classes have some interactive aspects) and are savvy with finding information online than I would definitely suggest them.

It definitely does seem like I end up with more work. I’m assuming that is because we’re not in class. Anyway, I’ve been pulling A’s, and I’ve not had to drive to the campus. I don’t consider these classes to be THAT important. Guess there won’t be any harm in taking some more online classes next semester. Thanks for the replies.

My M.S. Engineering program was mostly online. I did take a couple of courses (that I transferred) that were classroom-based and the online courses had more “busy work”. The classroom-based course based your grade more on your exams and final whereas the online course had more periodic quizzes, reports and other assignments. Even with the increased busy work, I preferred the online courses since there was less pressure on exams.
