How much do low STEM scores on the ACT affect a humanities major applying to Stanford?

I’m planning on applying to Stanford next year to study English and Poli Sci. I took the ACT cold this April (with the exception of extensively studying for the science section, go figure). My scores were a 35 in reading, 34 in English, 23 in science, and 24 in math. However, my application is geared pretty heavy towards my English major. A lot of my work, which is human rights journalism, has been published by places like Oxford and Yale. However, I’m pretty much garbage when it comes to anything math/science related. Is there any hope for me? Thanks!

I previously also received a full scholarship to attend the Stanford Summer Humanities Institute (if that makes a difference)

@floraha I don’t think it will hurt you meaningfully given your clear interest in a non-STEM field and also your great accomplishments in your field of interest. To me it wouldn’t make sense if they held this against you, and I don’t think they will.
I have a hunch that given your accomplishments you have excellent chances of getting in. Not many high school students can say they have been published by Oxford and Yale. I am sure getting the scholarship for Stanford Summer Humanities Institute will help too. Good luck!
