<p>It counts thiiiiiiiiiis much. Yes it can make a difference if your parents didn’t graduate college. I don’t know that they make any distinction about HS or not. Such info informs the rest of your application such as how your perform in school and your socioeconomic status. Of course there are many other considerations as well. If you like you see if anyone considers it or not, look at the common data set, section C7 I think it is, that lists factors and importance in admissions. In addition some schools separately avow their goal of enrolling such students.</p>
