"Summary of Estimated Expenses for 2008–2009
Three Co-op Tuition $28,500
On-Campus Living (Room and Meals)** $12,135
Fees $1,940
Other Expenses*** $5,925"

The tuition and fees would be accurate but boarding and other expenses varies by person.

how much money does it cost to live off campus? (live with one or two friends.)

And what's the real costs of "other expenses"?

grovestreet,

Living off campus of course depends on a lot of things. I would say if you shop around and do your homework, you can get a nice place close to campus for $500/month. Utilities, cable, internet, and misc stuff might add another few hundred. The cost of food is all variable. For those that order take out every night, it'll probably get pretty expensive. If you do your own grocery shopping at a nearby supermarket it would be considerably less. For me personally as an upperclassmen, I still live off of the dining hall.

I can't think of that many other expenses. If your in a Fraternity or Sorority, you have to pay dues, if you're a coffee drinker starbucks can get expensive, maybe some money for leisure and events eg: concerts and such, and of course alcohol or partying will add up if thats your thing.

Overall I'd say if your smart and aren't excessive with any of the above habbits or items, $1000/month total is practical. This is also not including your fixed costs which you only might buy once, eg: clothes, furniture, tv, kitchen appliances, etc. Hope this helps!

Thanks!
It's really helpful.
