How much does it cost to travel for college

I am from Baltimore (I rep tha 410). I was looking at Reed college and it looks most excellent, but it is in Oregon. How much does it cost to go far away, in shipping and plane tickets and whatever? It looks really nice, but I dont know how much extra cost I would incur from the distance.

You can find today's cost, but college is a 4-yr proposition and costs could vary greatly during that period. Distance isn't necessarily the primary factor in travel costs. Flying from Baltimore to Portland (two cities Southwest has flights to/form) can be less expensive that flying from Harrisburg, PA to Chicago.

Also, find out what Reed's policy is on being able to stay on campus during breaks. Some schools do not allow kids to stay in dorms for Thanksgiving or spring breaks. You may have to make accommodations if you don't plan on returning home during those times.

thanks for the help

Reed dorms close only during winter break between semesters, and in the summer (when all move out anyway); they stay open during all other breaks.
