How much does missing one or two classes affect you? UC Davis CS

If you’re missing third semster physics, will it affect you much?
Also, if you know java instead of c++, will this also affect your chances of getting in?

Undergraduate admissions does not care if you learned C++ or Java as long as you want to learn whatever they teach you at Davis. So no, Java over C++ will not affect your chances of getting in. Where did you even get the idea that you needed to know C++ to get into UC Davis CS?

Its been a while since I saw the UC admissions requirements but more physics is always better than less physics for engineering majors. As long as you make sure you meet their minimum and “recommended” requirements for science classes, you should be fine.

on their computer science website, it said that they work with c++ in most classes, so thats why I wondered if java affects your chances.

Ah, I see. Yes, most of the CS classes did teach in C++ but its not a requirement for admissions.

My daughter had zero coding or computer science knowledge prior to becoming a EECS major at UCB. She did feel behind her peers but worked hard to get up to speed.
