I'm currently a junior in high school and last week I received the results of my first ACT. They were:

36 English
35 Math
34 Reading
36 Science

This is all fine and good (as much as missing a 36 composite by one question irks me), but today I checked online and my writing score was up. It was a 7. Now, I know that writing isn't my strong suit, but I looked at the sample essays online and there's no way that mine was as bad as the example for a 3 or a 4. I thought for sure I would get at least a 10 of 12.

I am going to retake the test in the spring because every junior at my school has to take it that day, and I will take the SAT, but do you think I should really make an effort to get a better writing score the second time? Thanks.
