Hello, I'm an intl student, so if i decide to attend Kelley as a direct admit, i will probably chalk up at least 150k of debt in tuition alone. This is fine by me if i am able to (ideally) secure a job in the US upon graduation. Given the current state of the economy and such, it may be quite a long shot.

Simply put, Would a bschool education at Kelley be worth this 150k opposed to studying at a local (Singapore) bschool which would cost about 50k? Probably an intangible qn but, How much is Kelley "worth"?

That’ s a lot oof money. I’m curious too as to where you are getting the loans, and no, a degree from IU Kelley isn’t likely to net a job, on average, to repay that kind of loan quickly. If you picked a subject where you can get a good paying job, it could pay off in about 20 or so years in picking of that loan, but then you’d probably have similar prospects with such a degree from anywhere without having that loan gorilla on your back. No, it’s not worth it. If your parents have the money and can afford to give to you as a gift, wonderful. Borrowing it? No.

It will be sponsored by my parents, however i don’t feel good spending all that money unless i can safely say that i can secure a job in the states.

With the Kelley IB workshop, will it be possible?

It is not uncommon to be spending that kind of money as an intl student, this amount would be comparable to studying in say, australia, however i get the impression that it is not going to be worth all the money - esp if it’s not an ivy league, hence my chances of a job after graduation will be decreased, coupled with the fact that i am not a US citizen.

I would like to move to the US in the future. Would this be possible if i did not attend university in the US? How about a master’s program in the US after my UG locally?

Also, 150k in debt is not worth it. Rank matters a lot for business schools. The top companies (MBB, GS, Sequoia, etc) will only recruit from the top business schools.

when you guys mentioned top business schools, you mean wharton, harvard etc, essentially top FIVE business schools? Therefore kelley as a #13 has not much influence?
