What specific school and where do you want to land for work? West coast different from east and midwest. MIT matters a ton more in CA and the east coast. But again, it really depends on which other school you are comparing it to and what degree.
And in which country you want to work as well. In some parts of the world, they will not have heard of many US schools (HYPMS and that’s about it). Besides, once you have a several years experience in the job market, your degree will be much, much less relevant.
The salaries currently being obtained by MIT MEng grads right now (actually last years grads) is simply staggering. STAGGERING! The other degrees includes all majors.
Look at the MEng salaries - that is a 5 year BS-MS program in EECS. The median salary is $110K. The mean is $101K

My company which pays well simply cannot compete with this.
