Hi how many hours per day do you study for an economics major?
It will depend of the school you attend and especially it will depend on you!
Its actually a top tier college in lebanon and i dont like studying at all but i do it, thanks.
Also depends on the coursework itself (econometrics is different from macroeconomics which is different from international political economy, and so on.)
If you take the perspective of a credit system, a 3 credit class meets 3 hours per week. The bare minimum would be studying 3 hours in a week. Figuratively, a person should study 1.5-2hours per 1 credit of class at least.
This is the opinion from a intro class professor of mine.
Thank you
The US Government says for every hour in class, you will have 2 hours of studying/homework. So a 3 credit class should have 6 additional hours of study/homework. So a 15 credit semester will be 45 hours/week which is a full time job. Treat it like a full time job and you will do well. Read the chapter before the class, and do the homework after.
• One lecture (taught) or seminar (discussion) credit hour represents 1 hour per week of scheduled class/seminar time and 2 hours of student preparation time. Most lecture and seminar courses are awarded 3 credit hours. Over an entire semester, this formula represents at least 45 hours of class time and 90 hours of student preparation.
