So today I submitted my FAFSA application and they estimated I can get $5,645.00 and then there is a line that states the following: Your FAFSA information will be made available to your school, and they will use it to determine your financial aid award you may be eligible to receive.
My question is will they give me the money FAFSA estimated or will they give me a different amount.

If your EFC was $0, then you will get the whole Pell Grant of about $5600. It’s an entitlement. If you are entitled to it, you will get it. It is not school aid…it is a federally funded grant.

Depending on your school policy, you could get additional aid.

Yeah, my EFC was of $0, thanks

So if that’s the amount they gave you at the end you for sure get it?

It’s a federal entitlement grant. The college doesn’t have the discretion not to give it to you. And it’s not the college’s money, anyway - it comes from the federal government.

The only way you wouldn’t get it is if the numbers don’t add up when they check tax returns and such. But as long as what you entered was accurate, then the award should be as predicted.
