How much will one B- in an AP class cost me?

I really screwed over my first AP class in sophomore year, AP US History, and got a B- for the year. Since then, I've taken every AP class my school offers and have received pretty much all A's.

I'm reaching for ivies and top-tier schools, so I'm really worried this one B- will bring me down. (It brought my sophomore GPA down quite a bit) The thing is I'm majoring in Biology/Pre-Med, so do you think colleges won't count it against me since I'm not going anywhere near history in my future? Or do you think a B- is gonna look awful?

Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks :)

Need more of your stats to make an opinion

Ummm - shwayzee - start your own thread

painty - sorry that shwayzze hijacked your thread. Need more info but if the B- from Soph year is your only somewhat, kind of sort of “bad” thing then I would not worry about it would not mention it either.

sorry. As a college student–a B- will not matter. Don’t sweat it, the only thing that matters is the end score (1-5). THAT should be your only concern.

and yes, I got accepted to Ivies with a C in AP Calc. Believe it. I know where you guys are at, but honestly, grades do not matter if you get a C here or there–what matters is if you RETAIN the content and perform well on the end test. If a college admissions counselor sees you got a C–and you can later say you got a 4-5 on the AP test–STATE that in the “additional info section”.

-Can only help-

Haha @shwayzeee I just filled out your survey

As for stats, I have 2300+ SAT and 760-800 SAT II subject tests. GPA is the only thing that’s bothering me (I don’t have the cumulative GPA yet, but I think sophomore year brought it down a bit) and I do a lot of ECs. Nothing too special or anything that would count as a “hook”, but stuff I’ve kept for 4 years, do in-depth, have a leadership role in, and truly do have an interest in.

Thanks for your answers so far :]
Anyone else have an opinon?

Ehhh see, then I went and got a 3 on the AP Exam  But our AP US History is a two-year course, and I got an A- in my junior year. Upward trend maybe? Haha I had 4s and 5s in all my other APs though

Last bump lol :X

you are totally, utterly screwed. Good luck getting into your local state college.
