How much $ would it be from Regents and Chancellor's Scholarship if EFC > COA

Hi Everybody,

My kid will likely get the Regents and Chancellor's Scholarship from UCB but our EFC are about twice the COA at UCB (in-state). Any idea if I still should apply for Fin Aid at UCB to get monetary benefit of this scholarship? I know it's minmum $1k if there is no need but don't know what the definition of "no need" by UCB. Do UCB will give 0 $ if you don't file FAFSA?

Your replies are greatly appreciated.

You get $1,000

If you don’t file FAFSA, you get 1K

No one is likely to get scholarship unless your interviewer tells you that you will likely get it. It is a very random process with some scholars having amazing accomplishments while others are mediocre applicants.
