<p>Why isn't MIT part of the CommonApp anywho?</p>

<p>Several of the essays have been the same for the past several years.</p>

<p>I don't believe MIT has offered an official rationale for not accepting the Common App, but presumably they feel their needs are better served by putting out their own unique application.</p>
