Just curious, for you high 700's - perfect score people out there: on the SAT, how often do you think "no error" is the correct answer in the writing section?

Umm - it comes up about 16.8 percent of the time. But that only happens on every third test date. On the other ones, it's about 22.7 percent of the time. But be careful, because sometimes the college board likes to trick with you and makes it 14.4 percent of the time. Make sure that you know at what interval you're taking the test. It's extremely important to know. That way when you're taking the test, you can calculate exactly if you have too many 'no error' answers.

I heard from my princeton review SAT book that it's usually 2-3 no errors in each section... maybe a little more for the longer (35 question) writing section.

I am 99% sure no one can tell you this with 100% certainty.

I'm just trying to get a feel from those who have scored high and who also should have a pretty good idea of how many they averaged - just a ball park figure, statistics not necessary.

i got a 720 in june

and i had about 4 no errors lol, but switched it to 3 because i thought it was too many. Ha i hate these no error questions. Ended up getting 5 wrong overall and 11 essay. Yeah its anywhere between 2-4. Usually the last 4 never have no error though. I think one did in june though. They are usually the hard problems

I stand by my 22.7 percent - I'm 100% positive.

I definitely got quite a few no errors when I took the test. I looked over my answers many times after I got through the section, because it seemed like I had way too many, and I ended up changing one. After the test I asked my friends if they got so many, and they said no, so I was a tiny bit worried, even though I was pretty sure of my answers. I ended up with an 800. So my advice is, check your work, but if you think that sentence is right, leave it. Don't think about the total amount of no errors, unless you get that for nearly every question.

Fhimas, I thought it was 22.81%. At least that's what someone else told me.

No you idiots my aunt told me it was 22.80000001 percent. GOSH!

Gosh darn it, I paid $99 to get that top-secret percentage. And now you're telling me it's something different?! Nooooo... I want a refund.

Darn it, I'm wrong again. :(

ive heard its about 1/5

THATS ALL BS! Theres always one, but there no simple fraction you can use. On my SAT, I got an 800 and i only had 1 no error on the error id.

Exactly, hence my sarcasm. ;)

Don't be afraid to select "no error" If you think it's no error then choose it. Your first instinct is the best.

i bubbled 10 no errors on my last SAT and got a 800 on the writing because my essay score was a 24 (i wrote 2 essays in the time allocated for 1)

Oh really? I wrote 3.

statistically, it's about 1 in 6...but every SAT is different, go with your own instincts
