How old are you guys/girls who are applying for transfer from a CCC?

just turned 19 this march

I'm 21 but i look like I'm 18. I take it that's a good thing because I can blend right in at a high school. :) :) Asians tend to look kinda young.

lol yea, even i look young like 17 but actually i am 19 ... which part from asia ?

I'm 30....(yeah, I know!)

I'm SOUTH Korean. I emphasize that because so many people ask me if I'm from north korea. rolls eyes some people are unbelievable lol. I lived in Korea for 8 years and moved to the states. I'm not a FOB though. :)

you're 30? gdang, are you ready to mix and mingle with 18 year olds and 20-somethings?

I don't see why you take offense to someone asking if you're from North Korea. Seems like a valid question to me...

Also, if we're talking about being offensive, your attitude toward the SMCguy seems more offensive to me. So the dude is a little older than usual, in my experience they're cooler to hang around with than your typical 18-20 year old.

lol dude you took it too far. I didn't mean to say that the SMC dude is a geezer. didn't mean it that way at all.

oh well i know ... north korea and south korea, i saw a documnetary about it...
btw i was born in india

I really agree. I think as transfer students, we need to really be very supportive and accepting of diversity in education. I personally feel that the older students that I have met and studied with tend to be more dedicated and proactive as students than the younger students. I think that every student who works hard has a lot to bring to the table, so let's not discriminate and instead set a good example of being supportive and accepting of students from all walks of life.

22, I'll be 23 midway through my first quarter

I agree with usdenick regarding older students! They do tend to be more dedicated and proactive!

20 baby baby aye yae aye

They also bring a wealth of experience and real-life insight to class discussions. I chose one college over another because of that fact-- the one I am currently at has more non-traditional students.

my own brother was a transfer student. He's 29 now, but he graduated from UCLA (double majoring in history and poli sci) at 28. I'm not dissing older students at all.

19.... im always the youngest within a group.............................

I'll be 21 in May.

19................

Hey cheba63, when's your bday? I'll also be turning 21 in May.

One of the best things about going to a community college is the diversity in students it can have. When it comes to age, it really doesn't matter because once you've hit that magic number 18, we're all adults. It is not so segregated as high school where almost everything is dictated by class ie freshman, seniors etc etc. and then subdivided even more into stupid, stereotypical classifications. I always like it when there are older adults in a class because they bring in different opinions, views and experiences that I've probably never seen or heard. Older classmates are a lot of fun to talk to too especially about life situations or what's going on in the world. I think that's probably one of the good gains I'll take away with me from CCC and the diversity in general from CCC.

18 :D wish i was younger though
