We don't know how he heard about Harvard, but he talked about going there or Stanford. (We are from NY.) I was against promoting it as I was worried we may not be able to afford it when the time came.
Not to worry!!! Valedictorian son did end up applying to both and was rejected from both!!!
Fortunately over the years he heard of the great publics and privates also.</p>
