How open-ended is UC Essay #3?

Hello! The UC Essay #3 states “This question seeks to give students the opportunity to share important aspects of their schooling or their lives, such as personal circumstances, family experiences and opportunities that were or were not available at their school or college, which may not have been sufficiently addressed elsewhere in the application.”

I was wondering whether a personal experience that changed my perspective on the world would satistfy the requirements of this question. I would like to write about a friend I had who was convicted of attempted murder and how seeing him go to jail changed my perspective on the human condition and allowed me to metamorphose as a person.

However, would this type of response truly address the question? Thanks!!!

Or should I possibly use this as essay #2?

you will be fine as # 3
