As a prospective economics majorer, I wish to get a more detailed insight towards the amount of number and quantative vigour in the Economics major? For those who are participating in this; are you struggling with the Mathematical content? If you are, how good would you say you were already at Math?

Thanks,

Math seems to be a huge factor of economics. All universities usually require the calc 1-2-3 and stats sequence for econ majors. But I wouldn't be too alarmed. That's child's play compared to an engineering major.

No, all universities do not require calc 1, 2 and 3 for the econ major. I know Harvard, Yale, and I think Columbia, at least do not.

The econ major is as quantitative as you want it to be, I think nothing more than calc 2 is required, though if you are interested in the quantitative aspects of econ, there are certainly courses for which higher math is required. They reccommend that if you want to pursue higher degrees in econ, you should take higher math, but just for the BA, math 2 is fine.
