I am interested in transferring to the Gabelli School of Business, and i want to know how seriously fordham takes religion. Are the theology classes required? How many of them? I have already completed a World Religions class if that makes a difference. Any information would be great, thanks!
At Fordham religion is available for those who are interested but it is not pushed on anyone. The Jesuits are educators first and foremost. I have many non-Christian friends who are happy and comfortable at Fordham. However, anyone who attends Fordham should be respectful.
You will need to take 2 theology and 2 philosophy courses as part of the core curriculum. I suggest you google “Fordham core curriculum” so you can see the required courses needed to graduate (Fordham has a large core). A couple of friends I know who transferred into Fordham had to spend an extra semester on campus/take summer courses to complete the core and graduate on time. I’d look at the core now and if you are accepted maybe try to meet with or talk to a Dean to go over the courses you have taken and see what would still need to take in order to graduate.
Two theology courses are required. Don’t know how it works for a transfer.
I’d say one in twenty students are religious.
