How Seriously Should I Answer the Short Takes?

On the one hand, I want to show that I have given serious thought to my responses without sounding cliched. But on the other hand, I want to answer truthfully without my answers seeming superficial and meaningless.

I'm a pretty witty person, and I want that to come through. But, I also don't want to seem like I'm disrespecting them and their questions.

I think you’re approaching it correctly: trying to convey your wit but without seeming frivolous. If you’re unsure of whether you’ve struck a proper balance, have some others read your responses and get feedback.

If you are truly witty then you can give them both without seeing the other. I broke a forbidden rule in my essay, I used the second person. I also called bulls*** on one of the questions, told them so, and then answered in a humorous way. I got in so they had to have liked it.
