<p>Exactly how short is the short essay supposed to be? Less than 500 words?
Also, if you're going to say something like 'it's half a page', then is it half a page double spaced or single spaced?</p>

<p>I did 292, but I don’t think there was an exact guideline. On the paper application it only gives you about half a page handwritten, so I figured that it wasn’t meant to be too long.</p>
<p>I’d say 300 should be the max…perhaps 150, since that’s what CommonApp limits its short essay to.</p>
