How should I pick my teacher recommendations?

I want to apply for Direct MD. Should I solely get recommendations from science teachers and my PI from work or should I go to science teachers, english....etc?

also, how many recommendations?

My guidance counselor says that only two recs are required. In my school, even if you get more than two, once you submit them through Naviance my counselor and the college office only send out two.

Only get recs from junior year teachers, unless you still have a close relationship with a sophomore year ap teacher. For direct MD definitely get one rec that’s either math or science and the other should be a teacher whose class you excelled in and enjoyed and he/she can say a lot about you. But if you don’t feel like your math/science teachers wouldn’t write strong enough recommendations don’t sweat it because teachers are going to write about you as a student not if you excelled in their fields.

You should probably get a math, science, and a humanities teacher who loves you.

Also, if you need additional recs and have done research/work, you could probably get a rec from your mentor, as well.

Go for one or two science teachers from Sophmore/Junior year so that it pertains to the sciences and medical field. Assuming they like you and you did well in their class. Also, get one from your best English teacher because they can write very well. Trust me. Three total is great
