Technically, Chinese is my first language, but I was born in America and am far more fluent in English than Chinese, with little formal schooling in Chinese. Listening and speaking is not difficult for me, but reading and writing (even pinyin) may prove difficult, as I don't recognize as many characters as I'd like. Regardless, I am planning to take the AP Chinese exam this May--how should I prepare for it?

I’m not a native Chinese though but I’m learning it. I used to face the same problem as u, so I write around 2-3 Chinese essays every week and I did a lot of reading and comprehension. U can use HSK4-6 books. They have a lot of practice question for reading, listening and writing.

HSK4-6 books r great

I agree with the two posters are above-HSK books are great! I too am taking the test in May.
Also consider getting Barron’s-the other famous test prep companies don’t have anything for this exam.

speak and read as much chinese as possible
