How the prestigiosity ratings became green!

moreover, you are next on my list for the seemingly random moment ahead when the LGS gods permit me to share rep again. I was a girl scout, too!

Company on the mountaintop!! Yay!!

I seem to sometimes get the “spread the love”, or “too many in 24 hrs” message, alternatively. Weird…

It checks whether you have given to someone recently followed by whether you have given too much. So if the person is one who you have not given to recently, then it makes sure you have rations to spare.

So if you want to check rations first, find a random person to see if it opens up!

I wonder who else was a scout? LGB’s do look like those badges we use to get for our sashes. I did like getting badges :). I remember a hike where we cooked our own lunch afterwards. We had made these little tuna can things with wax and cardboard that you lit up for your heat. You put an upside industrial size can(empty and top cut away) on top of your tuna can for your stove. It is probably good that all we made was hot dogs or grilled cheese!
LOVE being on your list niceday.

I think the addition of feral pigs ends that discussion.

But when I search “feral pigs” I find a post! It’s like magic!

LOL on the LGB-ism. DH was commenting last night that he’s going to start CCA-anon (for the spouses of College Confidential Addicts) and they’re going to make up all sorts of acronyms we don’t understand!

okay, confetti, now THAT was funny. My husband and children call you guys my imaginary friends. As in, “Hey, Mom. Don’t tell your imaginary friends who my prom date is. kay?”

:D

That’s awesome. I think I like being an imaginary friend ;)

Friends, imaginary friends, rep addicts and any not covered by those descriptors-I’d like to ask for a concerted effort to push xiggi to the mountaintop today. Xiggi has made many meaningful contributions to CC over the years, is a CC icon and in my biased opinion, deserves to look down on us from above. So…as you try to decide where to share your love, remember Xiggi! :)

I was only able to give a couple of hits today then got cut off again being told I had given too much in the last 24 hours. I have not given 10 in the last 24 hours so dont know what that is about. Even gave some to newbies to try to earn good favor with the powers that be but that did not work. :(

I agree fully. However, I already gave him a rec last night and won’t be on-cycle again until around midnight tomorrow. Go for it, folks!

Xiggi is on my list tomorrow.

dowzerw, you need to create a spreadsheet with a timestamp, ‘users sent reps to’, ‘users received rep from’ columns in order to make sure that your rep giving is running like clockwork. ;)

Since I have gotten myself on a schedule when I can only rep in the dark hours (Bwahahaha), I have left my list at home. However, I believe Xiggi is on today’s list, so will help out tonight. I’m also going to look up the xiggi SAT method for my D - wish I had known about it for S he could have used the help.

I appreciate the mention, but have no worries. The boxes will show up in due time. A slow walk is a lot more fun than a 100 yards dash.

I think we need more math puzzles and college trivia questions. By the way, that former College of New Jersey did get 300 more applications and accepted fewer early Tigers.

Here’s a silly one: What is a third and a half of 100?

1/3 of 1/2 of 100? 16.67?

I adopt a new giving strategy instead of pick and choose: give to people starting from the latest post on this thread until I run out of power.

Right now I cannot give anymore.

Today’s random moment is apparently here. moreover, I gotcha!

My guess at a third and a half of 100 is 83. That is at least true in a world where ‘and’ means ‘plus’.

Princeton! Today is EA announcement day. Lots of nervous hopefuls over on that thread! I wished them well.

1/3 = 2/6

2/6 + 1/6 = 3/6

100 * 3/6 = 50.

The one-half applies to the 1/3. At least, in my world*. And probably why I do not write questions for ETS in their luxury bucolic compound. I could see the sea of protests from test takers missing that question. ;)

*since I wrote the question.

You take 1/3 out of 100 = 100/3. 2/3 of 100 is left. Now you take 1/2 of the remaining: 1/3 of 100.

Answer: 100/3 + 100/3 = 200/3
