How to address low AP score on application

D took her first AP course sophomore year and receive straight As, quarter and semester. It was a big shock to everyone that she received a score of only 1 on her AP exam, which was her first exam. I have no reason to believe the teacher didn't prepare the students well, as some received higher scores. D did study and this particular AP was a favorite subject, although not in her major field.

At least one application is asking for a list of AP courses as well as your test scores. How bad will it look that she scored only a 1 (her transcript will show a grade of A and the rest of her stats are excellent)? We always thought she could "ignore" the exam info on applications, but it has come up in one.

have you considered hand rescoring?

try getting it rescored, but i think its more likely that she didnt study as much as you think she did

i know plenty of people who do well in classes and then think theyre 'above' studying for the AP...they dont quite do THAT bad but who knows

try re scoring..if its legit you can always not show the colleges

"try re scoring..if its legit you can always not show the colleges"

Do you mean list the class, but don't indicate the test was taken? Is this an option?
