@OP: Timeline doesn’t matter. They don’t start reviewing applications until Nov. 1, 2011 (for ED this year). Others–can someone affirm this? I was told this at a Penn info session but I want to be sure others heard the same thing.

i c…
because it is said for ED, you only can apply for one college.
what if i only apply for Upenn ED, and i am rejected.i see someone receive “rejected” in December. is it too late to apply for other colleges then? is there any way to deal with this problem?

@Jo19931229: A majority of top universities have the Regular Decision applications due near the end of December/start of January (12/31, 1/1, 1/2, etc.). Results for ED usually come out the 2nd week of December. You can still apply RD to the schools of your choice.

Call Penn. Their website states that you may only apply to one school ED, but doesn’t mention EA. I would think that you are not allowed to apply to other private colleges EA, but their website does not specify.

It’s been discussed many times on here. You can apply EA to other schools as long as the other school allows you to. Some schools have SCEA (Yale and Stanford) and don’t allow you to apply anywhere else EA or ED. Others like Georgetown are not SCEA but only let you apply to other EA places. Unless an ED school states otherwise you are allowed to apply EA to other schools because they know that you are bound to attend their school if you are accepted early.
