I really want to apply to a Christian college but I do not have a solid youth pastor. I’ve moved churches a lot, but I would not say that my faith is weak. The only person who can truly talk about it is the best probably my oldest sister (whom graduated from UC Berkeley as a language major) , but I know they do not want someone directly related to you. How would I be able to find a reference? If it matters, I have a 4.0 G.P.A with multiple extracurricular and community service work.
That’s not a show-stopper for admission to many Christian colleges…it might be for some scholarships however. My daughter is considering Liberty and I don’t believe she’ll need a recommendation from her youth pastor anywhere in the process including the honors college application. What Christian colleges are you considering? I’ve heard some good things about Grand Canyon University and their honors college might be a consideration for you.
I would e-mail admissions of schools you are considering and tell them what you wrote here. I suspect many will be ok with it (or have alternatives) and those that aren’t are probably not places you’d want to attend anyway.
