Has anyone ever read this book by Cal Newport? I have seen many posts about it and I’ve heard very good reviews, but what do you guys think. Can someone give a summary on the book and its main points?

Go to his website and read some of his blogs. Honestly, most of the stuff he says about ECs is what CC folks have been saying. It’s about depth, not breadth, and with more depth, you end up doing something unusual and amazing in an activity as a consequence.
I’m a big fan of that book. His Study Hacks blog is great, too. If you go through some of his older blog posts, back when he was developing the ideas for the book, he talks about a lot of the concepts in a more concise format.
I’ve read it. It was OK, but i agree with @PartyNextDoor
I’ve read it, too. It was OK. All the kids he used as case studies have innate curiosity, motivation, perseverance and grit. I thought they already posessed those special qualities before they started their endeavors. I thought the book doesn’t quite apply to most of the avarage kids.
