I have just stumbled upon this book titled, "How to Be a High School Superstar: A Revolutionary Plan to Get into College by Standing Out (Without Burning Out)" on Amazon and was wondering if anyone has read it. I downloaded the first chapter and so far I liked what I read. For those of you who have read this book, what are your thoughts on it and do you think it's worth buying the full version?

It’s been talked about on here before. Some of the posters in the parents forum (strongly) recommend it a lot to kids in this forum. I’ve never been able to read it because my school/ town libraries don’t have it, but I’m sure it’s worth the cost. All In all, I’d buy it.

“For those of you who have read this book,” - I am not one of them. Just curious how to stand out according to the book.

I haven’t finished it yet, but it seems interesting. Cal has a personable writing style, and he seems to know what he’s talking about. Are you familiar with his website Studyhacks? I think everything he says in the book is on the website, just spread out all over the place.

The book is broken up into 3 parts: The Law of Underscheduling, the Law of Focus, and the Law of Innovation. Basically, the overall message is to stop stressing yourself out over things you don’t care about, and get really into something you do care about. He also gives suggestions and tips on how you can do it yourself so that you’re not just reading these kids’ stories like, “Okay… cool… but how exactly am I supposed to do that?”

very interesting.

I LOVE it.
Best book I’ve ever bought. Good for high school, college, and life in general.
