I am an international student who is extremely worried about the verbal and writing section of SAT. Can u guys tell me what are the ways of improving? Say which reference book is good?

Get the CB book and practice...
For verbal and writing, read books and major periodicals. 3 months is plenty if you study regularly, practice questions and take the practice tests.
just my $0.02
Read Xiggi's thread...

what date is the october test?

october 8th probably

Verbal:
I bought that huge blue college board book, and I did ALL the verbal sections off those (cause I'm a weak reader). Go through each passage one at a time, and go through the answers when you are done, w/o a time limit (sorta like xiggi's advice). Make sure you know the mood of the passage, and that all your answer choices reflect that mood. Also, make sure your answer choices are not too specific! That was one of my biggest pitfalls. Your answer choice may be right, but however, go with the more general choice.
Work through the sentence completions using a dictionary. Haha, i know that may sound pointless, but you'll get used to the style and logic knowing what the words mean. Write down the words you need to look up and make flashcards out of them.
Another hint for studying sentence completions: get high quality magazines (no, not cosmo girl) such as Times, Popular Science, etc. and read the articles. Mark them up! Analyze sentence structure, analyze what words they use and how they are used in context. For words you don't know, guess what it means before you look it up, and then look it up. This will enable you to guess words based on connotation and prefixes/suffixes and roots.

For writing, since you are an international student, buy a GOOD, resourceful grammar book.Take a composition class if its avaliable. After grammar, it's all about writing. YOu need to know what makes writing effective. I suggest getting a style book for that, strunk and white element of style is a godo one.

anyway, hope i helped.
