I got my ID yesterday, but found the chack status sitte closed with a message that it will be down till mid-February or so. Is this a punishment for those who applied close to Jan 1 deadline or was it like this for a while? Isn't mid-Feb too late to discover that something is missing? Can my app be reviewed without recommendations?
Are you guys planning to E-mail about completeness of your app at some point?

this is because so many people are applying. It takes a long time for the Admissions office to organize all your information and check what parts have been submitted. They're doing this for several thousand students and they dont want people clogging the system to check the status of their app when they may not have even touched it yet

They will give you time to get stuff in even in mid-February if something is missing. In the ED cycle, they had a message about allowing for missing information to be submitted up until the second week of December practically. The problem is that if they allow access to that information now, it may just cause more confusion and phone calls when in fact the information is probably there but just hasn't been opened/scanned/recorded yet. So I think this is their way of getting through the masses of mail and then really knowing what is missing.
