How to choose among UIUC,U ROCHESTER, University of wisconin-madison

I am an International student who wants to study Aerospace engineering in the future. Luckly, UIUC have that program and enrolled me. For UR and UWM, since they do not offer such program, I choose the mechanical eng instead since I thought they have a lot in common.

Here are my questions.
first of all, I want to know the differences between mechanical eng and aerospace eng. are there many things in common, or say, if it is possible to gain a bachelor degree in ME and get a master degree in AE?

If not, is it easy to transfer from ME to AE in sophomore?

Another question is, what is the average GPA in those three school, which school have higher GPA, as UIUC AE , UWM UR ME.

The third question of mine is, which school provide more activities related to AE or something that can join in.

My last question is, what is the reputation of these school, which one is the best for looking for internship or transfer to a better school like Umich and Cornell.

Finally, which school will you choose if you are looking for a AEprogram like me. To be honset, UIUC biggest disadvantage for me is it is located too far away from cities. Furthermore, some of my friend said to me that UIUC is not so selective and have low quality in education.

Thx

Search this on google “mechanical eng vs aerospace collegeconfidential”

" UIUC is not so selective and have low quality in education."

That’s not true. UIUC competes with UW-Madison.University of Illinois-Urbana champaign has average SAT of 1970 whereas UW-Madison has average SAT of 1900. So, UIUC is more selective than UW-Madison.
If you want to study aerospace then go with UIUC. If you want to study mechanical then go with UW-Madison. University of Rochester is not really known for its engineering. Its popular for sciences.

Thank you for fast replying. But the question is whis school have a better brand in US? Which school is easier for finding an internship?

If you just look at the reputation of the overall school, UR is the best one among the three academically.
