how to convince my parents...

to let me work during weekdays. So far, they are letting me work only fridays and saturdays, and i had to convince them to let me work sundays. i really want to work some weekdays (because i want to free my weekends up, and also there's this really cute girl that i would be working with), and they are too stubborn to realize that i can handle work and school. its just frustrating that they think they know my limits better than i do.

so, any ideas?

Show them you can do everything they expect you to as your schedule is, then tell them how exactly you would manage your time to get homework/chores done if they let you on weekdays. I had to show my mom I could complete everything asked of me before she let me take on a twice a month (8-hour) volunteering job at the local aquarium. Just prove to them that it won't overwhelm you and that you know how you will manage your time.

I have the same problem. But I'm just gonna do it and hope my parents don't freak out. Is that an option? =]

You want to be careful with pursuing women in a working relationship with you. I'm assuming this is at a very informal place, so yeah, I get it, but don't hinge a job based off a girl.

Do you have the GPA that your parents would like you to have? Probably not (and that is FINE, parents sometimes have ridiculous wants for their kids). But lets understand the root of the problem. Your parents want you to probably to better in school, so they are thinking the guns and butter principle of economics which states if you allocate X% of your resources to guns (work in this scenario), you can only put 100-X% into butter (school). And that is worrisome to them, even if you know that youre already maintaining some standard in school and will continue to maintain that no matter what your life outside of school is. Just say that you believe you can handle it and this is the time of your life where YOU need to figure out what you can do, so that in college you dont make time management mistakes. You have to find your own limits by pushing until you reach them.
