i am currently one week into my month-long internship.
i am currently two weeks into my cc class.
i just started working at my part time job two weeks ago, and am scheduled to start working four days a week. this is a job that my mom wanted me to apply for, because she wanted me to come out of my shy shell and be more outgoing.
one of my shifts conflicts with my class. obveously, because my mom's a ____ sometimes, i have to go work, right?
so that means i have to drop the class, right?
but i still have to submit the blank transcript to the colleges (right? or am i wrong on this one?), which will look really bad.
. i hate my life.
i'm also getting about 6-7 hours of sleep every night. normall this is an average amount, but why the * am i getting this little sleep in SUMMER????
how can i convince my asian mom to let me quit my part time job? she really really wants me to have the retail industry experience. :'(

Can you get someone to cover you for the shift, or someone from the CC to give you notes from that class?

i started working two weeks ago. i barely know anyone.
if i miss three classes then i get a big fat F.

Say it’s conflicting with your classes. As far as the shyness is concerned, as long as you have some friends you’re good.

thats alright. I go to bed at two or three and wake up at nine. 6-7 hours is normal enough in summer. As for the other stuff- I don’t know. I am terrible at interacting with rents.

Ok you CAN make this work. It doesn’t matter if you know the people at your job I call random people from my job all the time and ask them to cover a shift when I can’t. It isn’t that hard. Or just tell your manager about your class, retail places generally have alot of employees so they’ll stop scheduling you on that day.

Are you 18? Grow some balls and make decisions like a mature adult and maybe your parents will treat you like one.

^Solid advice.

If you act like a whiny and petulant child, then others will treat you as such.

Make your own choices; it’s your life. Take some responsibility. But if I were you, I’d keep the job and drop the class.

I really don’t think she’s acting like “a whiny and petulant child.” That being said, if you don’t want to work the job then don’t. It’s not like your mom can control that. Now if you don’t want to take the class then don’t. It’s really your choice, the most your mom can do is get mad at you right?
