Lately I've been more stressed then ever about college admissions, SATs, ACTs, APs, need I say more? The list goes on and on. I'm so nervous my course load is too easy, see, the thing is I was really sick last year and out of school for six months..so coming back junior year I was signed up for AP American, but decided to drop it because I needed an easy load with my illness. I sort of "fell through the cracks" at my former big public school so about two months ago I switched to a co-ed private prep school in my town. I love it, they don't offer AP's, but I AM going to take both AP History and AP English tests. I'm horrible at math so am not in advanced, same with science.

I don't know what to do..I know I'll get into good schools, but there's such an ambitious drive in me to want to go to the best possible school, although I know there's no way. I'm studying like crazy for all the big tests coming up, and have been doing pretty well grades wise at my new school. Do you think it'll be really held against me that I don't have a very rigorous schedule?

(sorry for the rambling...like I said, I'm stressed out!!)

Shazzy- not that this will make you feel any better, but you are not alone! Parents are stressing too!! We want our kids to be happy, we hope they get into the school they want, and then we have to worry about paying for it!
Take a deep breath, and remember in a month, this will all be in your rearview mirror!! ( and hopefully, you will be deciding which of ALL your acceptances you are going to accept!)

I am a Mom, and I honestly believe JR year is incredibly stressful. If you can, acknowledge that it is stressful, and then decide that you can only do the best you can do, and thats it. No more, no less. The fact that you have had to deal with an illness has not helpt, but you seem to be realistic, and have made decisions that are good for you(dropping AP Govt)...try to do little things that make you feel good---a massage? a walk? a hot bath? tennis...what ever floats your boat...and be ok with the time you spend on that outlet. It will recharge your batteries, help you breathe, and give you the ability to excel. Hang in there!

I'd have agree with 123orange..sleeping definately helps maintain the stress. I've also been getting involved in a lot of activities that I've wanted to do all throughout high school but haven't had time for with my heavy courseload. Right now I'm playing a large role in my school musical and it definately keeps my mind off of the wait and stress 90% of the time. so just try to indulge in everything high school has to offer (other than challenging classes) while you can...there is less than a month left of all this madness. Make the best of it!

I feel EXACTLY the same way. But it's less than 3 weeks, dude. No biggie.

I'm a junior too! I've gotten my ACT done, SAT II in Math 2 and Chinese done, SAT II in Bio left, and APs left. It's been a hell of a year, but fun too.
