how to explain dropping an EC?

i've been a member of my school's gay-straight alliance since freshman year. i'm now a junior, and one of the co-presidents. however, since my sophomore year, i really haven't enjoyed the club at all. we had tons of really cool and active members when i was a freshman, but they all graduated that year. i feel like our club accomplishes absolutely nothing and is a complete waste of everyone's time.
however, those aren't the big problems. my #1 issue is a girl who joined partway through my sophomore year. she's pushy, obnoxious, rude, and controlling in a scary way. when she's not waxing eloquent about her personal achievements, she's manipulating other people and basically making what used to be a fun/chill club into hell. she also hates me in particular, because i've called her out too many times on her BS.
so, as you can see, i'm pretty much done with this club. i'm looking for your opinions on the following 2 points:
1) should i drop the club? i hate it, but it is a leadership position and i don't have very strong ECs. i hate the idea of doing something i hate just for college admissions :/
2) if i do drop it (which seems likely), should i explain to colleges my reasons for dropping it? will they ask? if not, should i bring it up?
thanks for all your input :)
