I began to fill out the CSS Profile as well as the Non-Custodial but I am extremely confused on how to do it?
I live with my grandparents, but within the household, my grandfather and I rely on her (my grandfather is disabled). Also, my parents are separated but never married. My mom lives in Brazil and she does not support me financially since she has been unemployed for 4 years and I have had no contact with my dad whatsoever for over a decade. In this case, who would I put down for the CSS, my mom or my grandmother? And do I have to fill out the Non-Custodial? And who would it be for?

Check and see if your schools require the non custodial, not all do. If they do your dad is actually the one who has to complete it which means you have to send him the form to complete. If that isn’t possible, you will have to apply for a non custodial waiver and document why you can’t contact him/send it to him. 10 years of no contact, if you can prove that, as well as any proof of non support (financially) will help but there are no guarantees.
Legally if your grandmother has custody of you, then she should complete. However if not, I believe it would be based on your mothers income and her information. I would consult with your HS GC if you can to help you with the forms and confirm the correct approach.
