My S was able to use this method and the original ID and password assigned and log in to the “You’re In” page. Domestic applicant.

By the way, the first time my son got “invalid ID” on that class of 2014 website, but now it works.

I don’t think it’s a glitch. Syracuse University has something like that. It has an admitted students page that everyone can access. Those who were accepted get redirected to the admitted students page when logging in.

So is there another URL I can try?

@ wej

Burry is talking about this URL:

https://secure3.vassar.edu/congrats2014/home.php
As you can see, everyone can access it.
Those who can successfully log in to congrats2014.vassar.edu get redirected to the first link.

Oh, I see.

How many times did you all have to try to log in?

I’m assuming I’m rejected. Hu-uge bummer, but that’s all right. Still need to hear back from seven other schools.

Okay. So on congrats2014.vassar.edu I clicked “Vassar PIN” and put my “Vassar ID” in for a new pin, but the page told me it was invalid. That means I shouldn’t have access to the system at all, right, which is a sure sign of a rejection?

So wait. Is there a new pin that you get in the acceptance letter or is it the same pin they emailed you when they confirmed that you applied? and since I cannot login with the pin from the email then does that mean i did not get in?

Even if you are accepted, you might not have been registered into the system yet. I think they’re working on it as we speak.

It’s the same pin that they sent you in the e-mail.

So, ability to access the “you’re in” page doesn’t mean you are in, right? The official word will come from the secure3.vassar.edu/applicants/ website?

I used the same PIN from the email because I have not yet received any letter in the mail. I’m not sure what it means if you can’t log in…don’t lose hope though! Chins up =)

@ burry

Although it’s convincing, I wouldn’t say it’s definite.
And no. https://secure3.vassar.edu/congrats2014/home.php <— That site serves as a page for admitted students to be redirected to when they log in successfully.

Do you think I should call and get my ID and PIN?

Did you get one after you applied, with which to check your application materials?

Yes! It’s the same PIN as listed in that email. Look for the email from admissions@vassar.edu, subject line ‘Vassar Application Acknowledgment.’

Yes. It’s the ID and Pin I use to check my application materials. Although we can’t check our application materials now since they closed the page.

I am having my son search for the email now…I need the ID and PIN!! ERRR

The Vassar ID and Pin you got when you applied worked for me…I just found out that I am now a member of the Vassar Class of 2014!!!

@ tiedyegirl

Not to rain on your parade, but don’t take this as a definite proof that you were accepted. Yes, it’s convincing… Very, very, very convincing. But I wouldn’t say I’m in unless I got an official letter/e-mail.

I’m taking this as a rejection and moving on.

Congrats to those accepted (DIMAM, I wouldn’t tell anyone it’s official, but you can be pretty sure it is), and good luck to those who don’t get in.

Cheers!
