I just took my first ACT today, and did terribly! So I'm retaking it in December. I have the Official ACT Study Guide and the also the Princeton Review 1,296 ACT Practice Questions, 3rd Edition. Please any suggestions as to how I can study are greatly needed!!!! I can dedicate up to 3 hours on a weekday and 5 or more on weekends, I really want to do well on this because my SAT's are really bad. 28 + is my goal by December 14th. Tell me what I can do to achieve it and it will be done. Thank you in advance. (:

are you a junior or a senior?

Same here, I’m a senior so anything that applies to him might as well apply to me.

I’m a senior.

How do you know you did poorly if you just took it today? For all you know you got a 28+ so don’t stress to much over it. If you want to study a lot to help up your score just do lots of practice tests.

im a senior too here’s what I did…
so I took my first act in September
only started prepping a month ahead and what I did was set a very detailed schedule and really stuck to it
math - know the content and practice. I did 3 books worth of practice tests and 1 of those was mainly about the content and strategies
English - didn’t really do much bc im pretty good at it naturally bought the 50 skills book and read it took 3 practice test maybe throughout the whole month
reading - same for English maybe 3-4 practice tests and the 50 skills book
science - I did 10 practice tests over the course of the month made sure i understood any mistakes I had and surely I improved! also I learned that I just go straight to the questions.
so make a schedule and stick to it. I focused on my weaknesses more and did a practice test also every day in at least one section.

although that month I didn’t sleep much it paid off with a 35 composite idk where I started but the plan test told me if get a 22…take that as you will

okay, thank you. this sounds great! And congrats on the 35. (:
