just want to know how you guys studied for this exam. Gonna be taking it soon

I mostly just did the homework. My teacher also had us do a practice exam over spring break and another timed one on a Saturday to simulate the real exam.

The test isn’t until May.

It is one of the easiest AP tests around and you only need slightly under 2/3 right to get a 5. Know your calculator well. Read your textbook and do the homework. That’s all that is necessary.

But I am trying to self study it though. That’s the problem.

Basically bobtheboy said it all. Have a book that explains well and has adequate problems (We used Larson’s Calculus 7th Ed) and look over the College Board’s answers to released FRQs. After looking at Forms A and B of the last 5 years’ tests, you’ll notice there are only so many different types of questions they ask you.

Go on college board and do every single free response question from like 1997- present and then go over your answers (also on there). I got a 5 on the Calculus AB exam. My teacher was really good at preparing us with the FRQs from CollegeBoard and multiple choice packets she got from some secret source hahha

have asian parents…hahaha

no but really, i found it helpful to study right out of the textbook, and also do tons of practice tests. be extremely familiar with each concept covered.

Here are my studying tips:

1) Watch Khan Academy calculus videos…just Google it. They help a lot and make topics much easier to understand.

2) Wacth MIT’s OpenCourseWare Calc I videos…you can find them on iTunes.

3) PRACTICE. The only way to get a 5 is by practicing the problems. Also, about a month or two before the test, take a practice test. Then, you will know what needs to be focused on.

If your teacher is preparing you well enough and you understand Calc, it should be easy to be honest lol.

1) Use the AB Calc manual at mastermathmentor:

[MasterMathMentor.com - Calc](MasterMathMentor.com - Calc)
^ The AB Calc Manual is incredibly useful. It covers basically everything, and there are practice problems and quizzes.

2) PRACTICE!

3) Look over old exams/do the old FRQs on the Collegeboard website

^ You could also use the “Cracking the AP Calculus AB & BC Exams” prep book:
