How to get a Social Security Number

<p>I'm an international student starting college next year and I was looking at applying for a checking account. I've already decided what bank I'm going to use and so I was looking through the application and it asked for a SSN. I'm an international student so I don't currently have one and so I was wondering how do I get one in order to apply for a checking account. If anyone could let me know that'd be great.</p>
