i can't qualify for cal grants or for FAFSA because my family income is over 100k.
I still need to find scholarships or some sort of money though, but so far, i've been using naviance, and all the scholarships i am eligible for only grant money towards the top 2-4 applicants. They also require things like essays and letters of rec.

is there some easier way to get money for college?

So let’s see - you want a scholarship but you don’t think your stats are good enough to be one of the top applicants. You don’t want to write essays and you don’t want to or can’t get letters of recommendation. But you want to someone to give you money.

There is no money fairy. You need a reality check. Get a job and work for the money. Or go to a cheaper school. Those are your two choices.

Sorry to be do blunt but your post comes off as you having a large sense of entitlement.

When you find out let me know.

You need a better strategy.

how much will your parents pay each year?

Private scholarships are not going to work because they’re often only for freshman year. So, what would you do for your other school years? And, it’s very hard to get these scholarships anyway.

Did you apply to any safety schools?

You’re in Calif…did you apply to any Cal States or UCs that you can commute to?

You need to find one or two jobs this summer. you’re going to need to work as much as you can to save some money.

Where did you get accepted?

What was your FAFSA EFC?

You can’t be serious. Easy money for college? The “easy” way our S is getting $ for college: being top of his class, National Merit Finalist, 36 on the ACT, AP Scholar w/Honor, writing numerous essays, asking again and again for letters of recommendation. That about covers it. Oh, wait - it was not easy… in fact, at times he was very stressed-out about the whole process. However, now the money is starting to roll in, and it has all been worth it. He (and we) viewed applying for scholarhips as his “job” of late. And hard work usually does pay off.

Cute…money is the one thing in life that is not “easy” to get!
