I am thinking of visiting Cornell soon. However, I am wondering that if I arrive at New York first, can I subsequently take some kind of bus service that would transport me from NY to Itheca? Also is there a very economical, convenient way to go from NY to Cornell? Thanks alot.

Shortline buses are a great way to get to Ithaca from NY! I visited a couple months back and found Shortline to be very convenient! They make several stops on the campus… http://www.coachusa.com/shortline/

Another vote for the Shortline bus. It leaves from the Port Authority Bus Terminal. I've only taken it during holidays/weekends when it's $65 for round trip. I'm not sure what the weekday prices are. I just hope your bus driver knows his way around there once he's up there, because I had to help the bus driver around campus 2 out of the 3 times that I've ridden on it.

I think its around $80 but its cheaper for Cornell students!
ps. this might be useful…http://www.cornell.edu/visiting/ithaca/directions_air.cfm

Er, you're going to Ithaca, not Itheca. =)
