The UC website asks that they be notified about any grades below a C on your senior year. Got my report card the other day and have a D in AP Calculus AB. I applied as a Comp. Sci Major and my UC GPA was a 3.2 as of the end of Junior Year.
How do I write/contact them about this and what should it include/discuss? Roughly how long should it be? Also, does this nearly guarantee a rejection?
Would be great to hear some feedback from people who also got lower than a C but still accepted.
If you just have no idea what you are supposed to do, politely ask admissions.

Don’t even worry about it. If you applied as a CS major with that GPA, chances are, you won’t be accepted to any good UC’s, anyway. That D is going to hurt your chances even more, especially if you get waitlisted at one of the UC’s. At best, you MIGHT get into UCR if you’re lucky, but I would rather just go to SJ State or something over UCR if it’s for CS.
Thanks for the advice, but I’m relying on my ECs/essay to settle the GPA gap but that’s an irrelevant part of the story.
I’m trying to reduce any further loss of the chances I have left getting into a decent UC by not causing any further issues, whether it be to notify them before the admissions come through or get rescinded from any acceptances that I do receive.
